
SOLAR SITE TECHNICIAN SOLAR SITE ENGINEER
Job Purpose
To assist and support with all aspects in regard to the maintenance and remedial works on renewable energy systems. The post holder will have electrical knowledge and familiar with safety procedures. Previous experience is highly desirable and experience of troubleshooting techniques. You will demonstrate a good dexterity and familiar with ac/dc electrical test equipment, to include mc4 crimpers and other tooling used within the solar PV industry.
Your Tasks
- Understand and identify risks at site, follow company and site-specific risk assessment and method statements/statement of works, be aware of health and safety issues and report any on-site concerns to relevant managers.
- .Assist with scheduled maintenance and corrective maintenance works for solar plants to ensure their successful ongoing operation.
- Liaise with internal and external parties such as in-house low voltage (LV), high voltage (HV) and ground maintenance teams, sub-contractors, and other third parties as directed.
- Assist with troubleshooting monitoring and communication equipment (data logger, routers, sensors, etc.)
- Maintaining detailed records of onsite maintenance activities and to assist with compiling necessary reports and update the company’s ticketing system.
- Undertake all required training and development opportunities professionally and diligently.
- .Take part in the on-call rota for weekends.
Your Profile
- Experience of installation and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, ideally at utility-scale level.
- Experience of network diagnostics and remote communications experience (desirable).
- Have an understanding of Microsoft Office, phone/tablet and document reporting structures.
- Have a basic understanding of Health & Safety standards and Regulations.
- Hold Level 2 Technical Certificate in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- Level 3 BS7671:2018 (18th Ed).
- ECS/CSCS Card (desirable).
- SMSTS (desirable).
