Who we are
greentech is an integrated PV specialist. Founded in 2008, our scope of activities now comprises project development of PV plants and battery energy storage systems as well as planning, building and operation of PV plants in selected European markets. We offer further services in the areas of quality assurance, yield maximisation, financing and electricity marketing. With a team of more than 200 people in Germany, the UK, Ireland and Italy, greentech manages a portfolio of over 1 GW in operational management, has realised almost 130 MWp of ground-mounted photovoltaic systems and has its own project development pipeline of over 8 GW. In addition, we develop investment structures for a substantial proportion of these assets for institutional investors.
In order to support the colleagues in the UK Planning Dept, we are looking for a motivated (maximum of 40 hours per week) Intern.
This is a paid internship lasting six months to a year and an exciting opportunity in a fast-growing business. The role is a mixture of remote and office based. You will report to the Head of Planning and will work closely with the Planning Consultant.
Your main tasks will include assisting with the Planning departments workload producing desk-based site assessments (SAs) for potential new leads/sites/customers.
With a possibility of a full time permanent role at the end of the internship.
The Role
- Complete SAs regarding potential new leads/sites.
- You will receive, as an initial briefing, a red-line boundary (RLB) of the site, any information GTPUK is provided regarding it e.g., an address, main access or postcode, and a deadline for completion.
- You will receive a one-to-one, in-depth briefing for your first few sites, and after that, subject to the site’s complexity; and then follow-up at the deadline.
- All completed SAs will need to be shared as both Word Documents and PDFs.
About You
- You will have an interest in the renewable energy industry, and ideally have a specific interest in solar/BESS development.
- Experience in AutoCAD is preferable.
- You will be an efficient, independent worker who is confident in producing professional-level documents.
- You will be comfortable working across different, online, and free mapping software such as Google Earth.
